Can anyone point me to a site where I can see photos of the detail of the fittings of the convertible top and door seal finishers for a BJ8. I'm about to install new door seals, soft top seals and rubber finishers and clips etc but unsure how everything should go. If I can get it right I might get less water in when it rains, well maybe!

Any help appreciated, a picture tells a 100 words.

Thanks

Ian

I'm working on a fairly original looking BJ8/P2 (it's been painted & a new top fitted at some point, but I think most of the ineterior is original).

I will make it a point to get some pictures of the areas you're looking for, and get them up here. In-laws are due to arrive sometime late this afternoon, and also an appointment in the early evening, so please be patient with me...

At least I got this far last night (it's now running)...

Hello Ian,

I'll take some photos after I get home from work.
I'm attaching a photo from the Moss catalog of weather equipment BJ7, BJ8.
Would you point out the areas you'd like photos of.

Example:
12, 21

If you'd like to take photos of the areas on your car, or post a different Moss layout and reference those areas, I know exactly what areas your talking about.

Cheers,
Roger

Here's some photos of the pillar area.

Some include photos of the rubber end cap on the Bristlefex seal on the rail Cantrail.

Notice photo 2 and 4 show there is also a flat foam rubber seal on the end of the wooden frame strip. I'm not sure if that was installed at the factory, for I could not find a part number with Moss. Others may chime in if factory correct. It does help make a seal, along with the rubber end cap, against the (Moss part number 803-875,803-885) shut pillar top seal.

Hi and thanks for the quick responses.
The areas ref the Moss numbers are 12/21 for the soft top; and then both ends of the door seal rubber/purflex seals. I see from AUSMHLY's previous photos that the door seal at the rear pillar top should turn through 90 degrees and then fixes to the interior trim with a clip lecel with the tenax fastener on the inside trim. On my car it has been cut off flush with the top of the door frame and left ragged and uncovered ie no finisher. It then runs to the top of the front door pilar but is cut off level with the fuel gauge in the dash from where it continues as a second piece in a diferent colour to the top of the windscreen frame, where again it is cut off and left rough and unfinished. I see from Randy's photo above that it seems it should be all one piece and I assume it too should have a rubber finisher. I want to get both things right. I'll try to take photos and work out how to post them so you can see what I mean.

Hi Roger
Thanks for the photos. I tried to PM you to say thanks but my email bounces back. It seems that U.S. ISPs don't like orange.fr as an ISP these days, many of my US bound emails bounce back. Maybe France has become the world spam centre.
Anyway thanks again, the pics are great, just what I needed.
