Installing new wiring harness on a BJ8

Hey all,
I finally have the new harness for my BJ8 since I melted
down my old one due to the infamous license plate light.
Some of you will recall my sobbing over that recently.
Anyway, following some good advice of a few on how to go
about it but have one simple question, do I need to
slightly move - not completely take out just unscrew the
mounting screws and let hang there, so to speak - the
heater ? Just seems like not enough room to get the
portion of the harness through the round hole in the firewall
with the heater in the way. Maybe I have not fooled with it
enough but thought I would see what y'all think.
Thanks,
Mike

I can't recall ever having to remove (or loosen) the heater, but then, nowadays there's lots of things I don't recall...

To pass a harness through an opening, do yourself a favor and tape the harness as compactly as possible. Since this is only temporary, apply the tape inside out (3M electricians tape #33+, don't waste your money on anything else) as you don't want the adhesive sticking to your new harness. Apply the tape very widely wrapped (lots of voids) just make certain that the individual wires are taped at their ends, or they will snag going through.

Putting the tape on inside out, and widely spaced wraps, will make removal very easy. I'm all about easy

Thanks guys - figured I would hear from you two !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let me tell you though, first time I turn on the ignition
I will be holding my breath. BTW, I have installed two of the in line
fuses as we discussed.
Thanks,
Mike
