Not specifically Triumph but ...
I drive my TR3 on some long (4-6 hr) trips. Thinking about installing a simple throttle cable through the dash. Comments?

I think you would be a lot better off with one of the aftermarket cruise control modules. Its more work and expense; but much safer for both you and your engine.

Say, just for example, you're blowing down the road and some slow moving SUV pulls out in front of you. If you happen to drop the clutch when you jam on the brakes, the engine will race until you realize what that noise is.

Cruise control stops when you tap the brake. The problems with not having this feature would involve either brake fighting throttle or sudden excessive revvs when you kick in the clutch. I have done this on low speed equipment, like my swamp buggy, but would not on a road machine.Bob
