I am currently installing a BJ7 and earlier version exhaust system on my BJ8. I like the look, sound, and less weight of this system. I bought the Bell SS system made in the UK, with new mounting hardware. The problem is that the inboard tail pipe is hitting the box frame rail. It appears that the frame rail on a BJ8 drops down under the rear axle because the ride hight was raised on BJ8's. The frame rail is straight on my BT7 and the tail pipe doesn't hit it.
Has anyone ever tried to do this, and is there any simple modifications that you know of to prevent this problem other than lowering the exhaust system an inch or two, which I really don't want to do?
