Seems I saw some someplace that mounted in the rear bolt hole for the windsheld frame posts?

Has anyone done this, I just refuse to put holes in my new body work. Drove almost 30 years with out them but no more I think.

Suggestions welcome.

speedwellengineering has them, and I thought I saw a version in Moss as well... no wait they were just on a car that was pictured in their catalog.

Jack:

I have done this. It was a Moss mirror. If you want I can post a pic for you.

Think it is not speedwell, looked at their entire line. No joy.

Pat, lets see what ya got, hehe. I see moss ones but without a mounted pic looks like they might not fit, at least the ones I was looking at.

Tom (at Speedwell) alluded to the fact that he carried the identical raydot mirrors that moss carries (that is, he sources them elsewhere--they are not original speedwell designs is how I interpreted it). I opted for a more classic all chrome (and thinner) look found at VB. I, too, refused to drill holes into the new body and paint work, so it will be going through the windshield pillar hole.

Jack, I think you and I are running almost parallel in our build. I think I am just a bit ahead of you...but we are thinking about the same things at almost the same time...

There was a similar discussion on the big Healey forum. Someone suggested Harley Davidson mirrors. I got a pair (on ebay) and they bolt into the sidescreen socket nicely

Mustafa, now the fun begans.

Show us a link or a pic please. Have you ever googled Harley Davidson mirrors? There are all kinds of strange looking things, I just need plain round ones. Very understated.

Jack I used the mirror from a harley tour bike. Late 90's up to 2002. nice size. used the windshield mounting hole closest to the driver. worked well, only problem when I put the top and sidecurtens on It made it hard to open the doors fully. Works very well and looks good if you are not going to use sidecurtens

The cover of Moss's latest sprite midget catalog has a picture of the raydot type mirror mounted to the windshield pillar, but it looks like it might interfer with the door opening as well.

How about the miror on page A16 Moss, item (02)? looks like it would fill the bill. Would like to see the bottom of the stem a bit better but for less than 30 bucks the pair the price is right.
