1st top down ride of the year.

I just got home from about a 30 mile ride. Frist of the year with the top down and the first after some surgery on my eye lids.
Total success.
I have had problems with serious light and wind sensitivity and it has felt like my eyes were constantly dry and scratchy even though they were watering like crazy. I have been treated for alergies and everything else that could be imagined.
Then a new doctor noticed that my eyelids had rolled under so the exterior skin and eyelashes were rubbing on my eyes. They were irritating them and taking the moisture off like a squegee. He did surgery to roll the lids so they no longer rub and the change is amazing.
What a difference and such a relatively simple fix. I was actually starting to wonder how much longer I might be able to drive. Now, no worries!

Great news Tom on your eyes and the enjoyment of the 1st ride - I assume you are now safely out of the 'last gasp' early April snowstorms that mess everything up? Salt still on the road?

I envy you, summertime Triumph weather in Wisconsin is fantastic - summertime Triumph weather in Houston is best done at night..

:winner1: That's great!

It's good you found a doctor that got to the crux of the problem and was able to fix it. I know how lousey it is just to get dirt or something in the eye and I do suffer from allergies that make my eyes itch and water. Although as I get older the problem is diminishing. I can't imagine what you went through!.

I'm glad things worked out for ya. Keep on drivin'. :driving:

Bill,

It's supposed to be sunny and 57 in RI on Weds. Of course, I have no car to drive, so it can be 87 and sunny and it wouldn't matter.

But you. on the other hand.....

I had my first top down start up of the year....does that count? After 4 months of work, the engine and 5 speed tranny went back in last Sunday and it fired on the first turn of the key today. Maybe it'll get off the jack stands and on its wheels this week and actually go down the road! I just need to adjust the hydraulic clutch, run the 5 speed through the gears, install the interior and get my nails clean.

In my opinion, it counts more than me taking pictures of an empty engine compartment.

Too cold to drive here. I had to content myself with looking at cars online instead...

As of late, that doesn't seem to be a wise thing for you to be doing Alan.

She could be happier, but the knives are still in the block. I consider that a good result...

Wow Tom, Great!!

I know how ya felt, buddy. I do.
Same problem but different fix.

Finally went to an opthamologist about my bad eyes.
Driving me nuts they were.

Got a diagnosis of extreme "dry eye" due to C.O.P.D.
lung condition shutting down my tear ducts. Liquid
tears with eyeball lube every 2 hours and I'm good to go!!

Nice lunch with the Mrs at the beach- Pulpo Loco restaurant.

Great news Tom. Happy to hear that condition is now under control in time for driving season.

Unless you guys in WI decide to extend winter for another few months.

Dale, unless you pushed or towed Amos there, it appears that it's running OK.

Thanks for the good words. A couple more health issues and I should be good for a few more miles.

We had a couple of good rains so the salt is gone. It is still posible to get more snow for a week or more yet. We have now gone past the 100 inch mark this year.

In '72 we got aout 18" of the white stuff on Apr 11th. I had just returned from the 9 day 5th Army rifle matches at Ft. Riley and the snow hit hard. That year I was a member of the winning team for the Infantry Combat Trophy Match. First time it was given for the M-16.

It was about 60 degrees here today and Shirley and I went for a ride just after lunch. Got to get a few in, she is having knee replacement on the 23rd and she loves her ridesin the TR6.
