ok the issues started with the points. so my points spring snaped in two, yes the weld failed, I got the car running an old set from the bottom of my tool bag and got home.
the car (named Shaggy) ran well on the 3 hours home. well on a hot day hoping out to the shops it died on a hill. the wires under the dash hot to the touch. a buddy towed me home. ok so i put a new set of points in. ( how do i test the condencer?) but no luck no spark ok the Tach is not hopping when i'm on the key. so I have given it a fresh ground. Ive run new white wire from the key to the Coil. getting 12 volts there.
ideas?
the tach is dodgy but it was new and bearly working. its a 72 engine so a later tach but i have the bigger cans for my 67 dash.
Im dropping the dash tommarrow. and will go through the harness.
