TR4/4A TR4 seat buffer problem

So I am reupholstering some seats from a TR4, they were in pretty rough shape. Once I had all of the material off and the frame stripped I noticed that one of the two frames was missing one of the seat "buffers". The part is unavailable and I'm at a loss about where to go from here. Does anyone know if there is a comparable part, or a good solution to this problem? The other 3 buffers are rusted to the frames so they are going to be a pain to remove but I will replace all 4 if I need to. The TR6 buffers do not fit where these are supposed to sit on the track. I've attached a picture of the buffer I'm talking about.

Rubber bits can be simulated with 3M windshield urethane as it will bond to any clean surface.
Usually 4a seats require a lot of welding too. Good luck!

How about this. They look the same .
Whoever had done these seats before me had put the TR6 buffers on there instead, but unfortunately they are about twice as thick and so they had drilled them into the frames beside where the originals were so that they would end up beside the tracks, which is a) why 3 of the originals are still on the frame, and b) made it to where the buffers were on the carpet and making it impossible to adjust the seat forward and backward. If I put them where the original buffers are they are too thick and force the seat back forward at a bad angle. The originals that are on the frame are some sort of hard plastic, they aren't rubber. I had seen the TR4 buffers from East Kent Trim Supplies but they look like they are the same size as the TR6 buffers, and their website doesn't give a description or show them with anything to scale them.

You don't need to use precisely what the factory used. I used bumpers from McMaster-Carr. See

> McMaster-Carr <.

I bought part no. 9540K752. I used these on both the seats and top frame. $6.93 for ten, now $8.63. (Sigh...)
