Anyone here ever build a replacement control head harness? Tips? If so how easy was it to do, what wire sizes did you use, and did wrap it and if so with what?
I just bought one instead, they're readily available from the usual suspects.
One problem I see is that the tiny ring terminals that go inside the control head are "specials", they have a locating tab that sticks into a hole in the Bakelite to keep the terminal from turning and perhaps shorting out.
No, I just ordered it the way I always do: Look up the factory part number in the factory parts book, then order that number from TRF. Web site says it's still available:

Yeah, the wire size is critical, as is the thickness of the wrapping. This is just one of those parts I wouldn't personally consider doing myself unless it wasn't available otherwise. Moss shows it for $38...which is higher than it used to be. I found mine on ebay for $22 and it's cloth wrapped. I could not build for that price.
