A newbie introduction...

Wow! I wish I'd found this site earlier - so much information! Just to introduce a list (and Triumph) newbie... I'm Mark, a Brit transplant currently living in Texas, and I finally bought a TR6 several months ago after wanting one for a fair old while.

Now its time to start re-doing all the things that need to be done - am currently doing the front suspension bushings and joints, although the BAH method for removing the upper ball joint is not currently working out. Maybe I need a _bigger_ BAH /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anyway, just to say hi...

Welcome Mark. We have a number of transplants here. In fact, one of our Moderators, Steve, is a transplant. Glad you found us and if have any admin questions, check out the Knowledge Bas and the FAQ page, and if all else fails, email me via the "Contact" link at the bottom of most pages.

Cheers,
Basil /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Hi Mark and welcome.
I'm a Brit transplant myself although I've been here in Western Canada for over 30 years now so I'm probably what would be called "Transatlantic" now!
The forum is a great resource and run by Basil (no not Fawlty, although I think he fancies himself as a hotelier)
First thing I did a year ago when I got my 6 was to rebuild the front end suspension etc, made a big difference in my "bottle" when going 70 MPH.

Hello Mark, and welcome.

Yet another Brit transplant pitching in! This is a great place to make new friends and get help and advice... when you're settled wander over to The Pub for a little light banter.

Welcome,
So where in Texas are you? If you're in Houston, you should join the Texas Triumph Register -- a really great group of people.

Hi Mark,

Welcome to the forum from Maine, where I use my '80 TR-7 Spider and one of my two '66 Land Rover Series II-A daily. My British mum made the decision to have me born in the USA, but I'm told it was a close call.

Best wishes,

Jeff

Welcome Mark. Reading about the repairs and mods owners are making is like working on your own TR without getting your hands dirty or in your case, without busting your fingers when the BAH is brought into action /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Please keep us posted on your progress.

Mark,

Welcome! Now that you're living in the States, you should know that we don't refer to a hammer as a BAH. That is VERY crude and tasteless.

Over here we call it a BFH.
