Well, I dropped off all the rotating parts at the balancer's today. I was very impressed with his knowledge and the cleanliness of his shop. Everything was clean enough to eat off of. He has several jobs in the works and we spent about an hour or so talking about what he would be able to do for me.
He walked me through the process, but I have to admit that there was a lot of it I didn't get and I was a machinist for 20+ years. He told me that when he gets done the entire rotating assembly will be balanced to within .5 grams. I find this hard to believe that he can get it that close.
Meanwhile the rest of the engine has been cleaned, primed and painted and is awaiting the arrival of my new camshaft and ARP bolts. The head has been machined and is awaiting port cleanup before assembly.
I must admit that I am tired from all the effort but I wish I could speed thing up and get back on the road.
