MGB Ok, I have a bad looking MGB...

Offline
...up close. But it's a daily driver. And I havent fixed the spreading crack of doom, the fading/chipping DPO paintjob, the hideously mismtched and uncarpeted interior.

Who else would think it wierd if I were to pose it as a barn-find (rusty shovels, straw/hay, etc) at a car show? You know kind of a full sized diaroma?

I've been thinking about doing this (after last year's Tannehill Show), but I'm not to sure how it would go. Any ideas?

I say go for it...lot of people put together extreme displays for their cars....there's a guy in the Corvette circle that hauls an antique gas pump to shows!

Don't you have an antique gas pump now too... Tony? Is that your plan?

Paul - I do have an antique gas pump...& an old lighted Texaco sign...but, my plan is to build an old gas station out in front of the Garage-mahal's porch area - as a covered place for Jerri to park her car....to the far left in the photo below:

Okay, here's a sad confession. Looking at that picture of garage-mahal is far more exciting to me than any internet porn would be. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif
Do I have a problem?

Kenny, I'm gonna say the exact opposite of those guys. I don't think you should do it at all. British car shows aren't about huge displays. Maybe some hot rod shows, but not LBC ones. That and the fact that you don't really have the car for it. If you had a TD, or an MGA, or even and early B that had lots of patina and faded paint, etc, then just drive it in and let people look at it that way. I look at those cars more than I look at the restored ones. Your car is a RB that you've cleaned all the paint up so it's kind of shiny looking, at least in the pictures I've seen of it. It just wouldn't be able to pull off the "barn find" look.

I think that's hilarious...in a good way! Besides being original, you also poke a little fun at the "trailer queens". I like it! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Doug - Yep, house for my cars!

I think Kenny's idea would be a hoot - especcially at the show he's discussing.they tend to get a bit uptight at it!

You know I think a photo tour, up close and personal, of the Garage-mahal would be neat. I do plan on seeing it one day but for now....... Wonder if it has a fridge and hotplate?

Its a work in progress; but, yes, fridge, stereo system, Dish Network satellite TV, the whole works...I'm doing a 'tour' thing on my web site as I work on it...its a bit out of date right now as lots has been done (dropped ceiling, permanent lighting, etc), but here's the URL:

I have an old greenhouse in the back of my property that I plan to one day tear down and build a shop on the foundation - now I have something to shoot for! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

WoW, not sure how I missed those pics when I was looking at your site earlier.

Only thing I see missing is several worker bees, dusting and cleaning and such.

If I die I know where I am going.
