Having made the fateful decision to put my lovely '66 big Healey in play to finance the purchase of an E Type, I have all of a sudden been seeing classic Jags in my sleep. Over the past three days alone I have seen no less than three gorgeous E Types out for sunny weekend drives in my neck of the woods. Not that I don't like FHCs mind you, but there is nothing like the sight of a well sorted out roadster at speed on a sunny Sunday to get your adrenalin running.
While sitting at my desk, or working wood in my shop, I fantasize that I'm cruising in my shiney E Type roadster down a lovely tree lined country lane. I imagine cruising empty (yeah, right) California freeways at 80 mph while the tach reads a lazy 3k rpm (hey, it's a fantasy, right?). My wife, Belinda, and I stop from time to time in little picturesque wine country villages, smelling the fragrant spring blossoms and shopping for picnic treats in quaint little grocery shops. We wave to the admiring throngs of classic car lovers and let the troubles of the day disappear from today's harsh realities.
So I have a line on at least one E Type that may fit the bill. I sure would like to see some others. If any of you know of a well kept show/ driver Series l or l.5 for sale to a good and happy home - I'd love to hear about it. Make my fantasies real.
Thanks!
Randy
