Differences between 3000 models

I have a early 1965 3000. At one them I found a couple of detail things on it that were from a 64 but I forgot what. Anyone recall any details on a 65 that were sometimes from 64? How do you tell if it has the 64 lower suspension? Between 65 and 66 there were the lights? What else? darn I hate getting old and forgetting stuff. Perhaps there is a good website.

There's two versions of the 64.

The later 64, started the phase II cars.
It's leaf springs changed from 8 to 6, and they deleted the pan hard rod. The car also gained another one inch clearence from the road, and the gap in the rear wheel wells show it, as it got larger. The door handles changed to push button and the round directional lens got bigger.

After the 64 phase II, the 65-67 added a separate directional front and back. The rear refector was replaced with an orange directional and an orange one was added up front.

Others may chime in with more changes, like the early 64 phase I had a cubby box at the end of the arm rest, things like that.

There is a pan hard rod that runs parallel to the rear axle on the Phase I while the later (raised) Healeys had bars parallel to the drive train. You can spot these as there is a carpeted, square cover box on the floor behind the front seats.
I think most Phase II's had plastic front directional lights (Regardless of the number) while early Phase I had glass "bee hive" lenses.

The 65s also had the single lights. The 64 and 65 phase 2 BJ8s used the 3/8 inch pulley system for the drive belt

Not all the 65 had single lights. Maybe someonce would like to chim in with when the 65's went from single to double.

My BJ8 is a 65, manufactured 5-9 August 65, HBJ8L/32419 and has double lights.

Single GLASS lights are Phase I and earlier cars.
