I have need of a fuel line Y tube for lack of a better term for spliting the fuel line to the two H1 SU carbs on a Bugeye.

Name your price please.

Think that is what I am lacking at this point to fire it up, well need a few local bits as well. Battery and cables, hehe.

I bought mine from a local fitting store (shop sells all sorts of hoses and fittings primarily for hotrods and private planes). I am going there sometime this week to pick up a little more braided hose-do you want me to pick one up for you? I think it's was $5-10.

Whats it look like. Hmmm

Is about a foot long with a right angle bend on each end that go to the carbs. about 2/3 of the way to the front a line is welded in to that peice that then goes to the fuel pump.

That was about as clear as mud.

Jack, I think what you are describing is what I am using as the overflow pipe, or is it the part shown in the VB catalogue (with no part#) in the "Fuel Lines & Fittings" page? All my manuals and catalogues are quite vague in this area, especially re: early SUs.

VB catalog, page 84, item 13 points to a clip on that line.

Been thinking, think I will run hose from each carb to the front with a Y then single line to the fuel line from the pump. Seem reasonable? I know I can get Ys at the local store tomorrow.

heh, been out in the garage already looking and plotting.

That is the piece I was referring to, though the bends on mine are greater than 90 deg. On the newer SUs, as I'm sure you remember, the two carbs are inter-connected with a rubber fuel hose. The float chamber tops are different though from earlier ones, and the "T" is, in effect, built into the top of the front chamber. You could rig a similar system by simply splicing in a "T" into the inter-connecting line I would think.

I tried to attach a photo of my set-up (first-timer with that) but could not even thought the file was only 850KB! Some day I will learn this stuff!

Jack, if you cannot get the piece but want it to look right, you could probably make it out of some brass tubing (local hobby shop?) and make it look "correct"

Going to use rubber fuel hoses and a Y. Some day I will find the right part on ebay or someplace.

After this it is static time, adjust valves, and see what I got. Crosses fingers.

Jack, I've got this if you want it. It was cut with a pair of side cutters between the fuel pump and the tee.

Chris, that's it by gosh. I have an elec pump so no prob on the cut, it will just connect with a short hose.

You have a pm.
