OK...this is sort of hypothetical and I've changed the actual VIN to protect the innocent
I went and looked at a Bugeye last week with the VIN AN5L/09500 (again, not actual VIN). The body number (the one stamped on the inside drivers door post) is AN 533600.
Am I wrong in my assumption that the body and VIN are from two different cars? They should be closer than that, right? My Bugeye's VIN is AN5L/21000 and the body number is AN 520712....pretty darn close to each other.
I guess the questionis, is there a correlation between the cars body number and it's VIN/when it was built? Because to me, it appears that his early "1959" Bugeye is really a mid-late "1960". Am I wrong?
