TR2/3/3A TR3 Oil Breather Mounting

Can someone please share the correct mounting for the TR3 oil breather tube...There is a bracket on the lower portion and I am not sure where the bracket connects to. Thanks!

There should be a little piece between the breather and the oil pan. One side goes to an oil pan bolt and the other goes to the breather. There were variants on the little connecting piece. Some are twisted and some are flat.

Thanks! I have another question now...How far into the block hole should the breater pipe go? Mine just barely fits the outside of the hole and really does not fit inside.

I believe it should go quite far in. Mine (not installed yet) has a dimple about an inch and a half down, which I assumed is a stop.

Mine goes in quite a bit too, 1-1/2" or so. I've not seen a dimple though, so perhaps that was a later change (like the flat link instead of twisted).

Could you have a broken stub in the hole? Or the wrong tube?

This is the same tube that has been on the car for a long time, and it's not broken off. But the oil pan was off recently when my mechanic had to remove a piston (Long story).

Perhaps in the jostling around the tube was dinged or bent out-of-round...I'll take it out and inspect.

There is a round washer (spacer) that has to be used for the bolt on that corner of the oil pan that also secures the sump vent pipe. The spacer is needed because of the rim which turns down on the outer flange on the oil pan.
