I've been using the regular Napa Sil-Glide, 7651346, successfully for many years, I never knew the brake version of it existed until I looked it up today.
I've seen no degradation of the rubber whatsoever, even after many years on my numerous vehicles, guess I'll continue using what I have and then buy the brake type. And yes, I generously coated everything with it, rubber cups and boots and metal including the pistons. Besides coating all the surfaced I would wipe a gob all the way around the metal brake cylinders up onto the rubber boot making a fillet there so NO water was going to get in.
Only trouble was on my Girling Land Rover master cylinder. I must have put a bit too much silicone grease on the metal piston which slowed down it's return action after releasing the brake pedal. There is only a small spring inside the MC to return the piston to it's home position, my too generous application slowed down the return action causing a slight delay before I could pump the pedal again, time has eased this problem.
