Thanks, Tony. Parts were received today. I will wait for better weather before installing them as my "garage" is a mite small. By the way, can anyone help me with directions on how to get at the side window seal?

MGB? Pull the interior panel, remove the window "limit stop" and lower the window to allow access to the (hopefully) pop-rivets, drill 'em out and off it comes... and in the immortal words of the factory manuals: "Reassembly is the reverse proceedure of above." Be aware of the window lower track, as it can slip past the "nubbins" that travel in the slot when lowered too far.... and lube all moving bits while you're in there. It'll SCARE ya how easily the windows will go up 'n down after the job. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

EDIT: White Lithium in an aerosol can is the "lube of preference" for the mechanisms. Silicone spray for the track felts.

I had to take the window out of mine before I could get enough room to drill out the rivet heads. It's kind of an awkward chinese puzzle kind of deal. My car had been repainted with the old seals installed so removing the old ones chipped the paint /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Good Luck

Thanks guys. I thought I might have to take the whole windo mechanism out. This is uncharted country for me!

If you do remove the window channels... Make note of how the bottom brackets came out... If you put e'm back in wrong (and it is do-able), you'll have minor, but unfixable window alignment problems. Unfixable until the brakets are back the way they should be.

Just a heads up... They can go in 2 ways, but only 1 works correctly!

Slow & easy is the only way to take a door apart....tilting the window to pull it from its channel is just "touch & feel"....its not a big job - though it can be a bit frustrating...

All good advice, thanks all. But I was able to do the seal without tearing everything apart, thankfully. See my next post about seal re-installation.
