T-Series TD clutch actuation part question

I have a quick question for the T series guys. I am straightening out a 5 speeed conversion in a TD. My question is, what do you do with the tapered pins that attach the actuating arm and clutch fork? I got the pins from Moss, and they are longer than need be. Do you cut the pins and peen them, leave them be, or what??
Thanks,
Jesse

Well, since everyone jumped all over this, I thought I would fill you in on what I did, This is a beautiful 51 TD that the owner mostly restored himself. He paid another shop to install a Moss Motors 5 speed kit. He finished up the car, and took it on it's maiden cruise. The car went 300 miles before clutch failure.I figured the release bearing had failed, since it had not been changed during the conversion. When I removed the trans, I found that the clutch actuating arm was loose on the cross shaft( along with a totally oil soaked clutch disc, ,trans oil leaks...)I ordered a new actuating arm, new tapered pins, and the keys that hold the clutch fork, and the arm.I took the shaft out to discover that there were no keys fitted, and the arm and fork were only held on with hollow roll pins. For an added bonus, the shaft was upside down ( more on this later) I removed the broken roll pins, that had failed, causing the clutch to stop working. I reversed the shaft, fitted the keys, and , in the end, coated the pins with loc tite, and drove them in. I just cut off the excess in case of future removal. I put the trans back in, and went to hook up the clutch rod. It is now too long, and shows signs of Pedro. It has been cut, and lengthened by 7/16 of an inch, no doubt to line up with the previously mis aligned parts. So, now I sit waiting for a new link. My customer is delighted....As always, there is more to the story than this, including overnighted parts that were wrong (twice!!) Consultations with MM tech department( very kind and helpful) Previously re threaded bolt holes in the oil pan half of the bell housing, that the prior shop had just "stuck" the formerly correct bolts in, despite having removed bolts that were fit to the threads..... I think DPO Pedro has a cousin in DC. Just another chapter in the life of your friendly local LBC shop!!
