TR2/3/3A Paint code plate

Is this the paint code number stamped on this plate? There is another plate too but just miss placed it. Getting ready to paint the engine compartment and going to try to get the correct color for the car this time. Or should I say the correct shade of white. 1960 TR3A and in 1980 I used Leyland white because we could not find the proper shade.

I am pretty sure there is no paint code on an old TR3A. Those are body or shell numbers and probably not even recorded anywhere.

Jerry is correct. If you don't know the original you can get the heritage cert.

If you really want to restore to original, your best bet likely is getting a heritage certificate/build record. There were at least five whites used by Standard-Triumph circa 1960, with Spa or Sebring probably the most likely on a TR3A. From the VTR site:

It hasn't been established exactly when Sebring White was replaced by Spa White during 1960, but in general a pre 77K car is likely to have been Sebring White - post 77K car Spa White. There wasn't much difference beween the two colors which were more of a snow white than a creamy old English white.

Paint codes, which didn't appear anywhere on the car, were Sebring White ICI 3276 - Spa White ICI 3436.

I decided that I have to add something to the various id badges on the car. I think when my TR3A came into our possession, one of the plates was hard to read, but I finally decided it said RUSTY.

Thanks I'll order the certificate . If I remember correctly the original owner said it was more white then creamy and that's why I went with Leyland white. How ever Jerry mine was "rusty" too found behind a back yard body shop with a tree growing through it in 1976.
The two plates if I recall were mounted side by side. Looking at pics on line a saw a lot that were on top of each other. Any right way?

On top of each other. One of them is painted body color.
