Hmmmm.....my Bugeye has a 1500 engine in it. Nothing inherently wrong with that, depending on which 1500 we're talking about.

Tell me, how does that 1500 fit to the motor mounts and does the tranny fit as well?

None of it fits worth a poop. Its not even installed. The PO just took the eng/trans lump and dumped it into the bay, supporting it by the tailshaft in the tunnel and the pan across a crowbar. The shell never got molested, as they never got around to finishing the job. Good luck for me. The only cut to the shell is the "H" cut behind the shifter hole in the tunnel for God knows what reason. Easy to weld shut.

I've got a good street 1275 and 5-sp under the bench for this and a nice bugeye in the driveway, so this one can be a casual time-waster for long winter evenings.

I simply couldn't turn a rust-free bugeye shell for $600,
could you?

To coin a phrase it sounds like a win win.

Good on ya.

Mine is from an '82 Datsun 210. It looks like it belongs under the bonnet and no butchery to the car was required to get it to fit (just some very minor alterations). It might be sacreligious to some people, but it's reliable, powerful (~100 HP), parts are cheap and I still get 45MPG on the highway.

Anyway, $600 for this Bugeye is a steal (pos 1500 notwithstanding).......why can't I ever find deals like this???
