Girling brakes on a Chrysler?

I'm not sure this is the correct forum, but here goes. In some box lots of British car parts I bought a while ago, there are some boxes of Girling brake shoes in Chrysler labled boxes. I think the dates are around the early 70's. They're small, probably for a 13" drum. I doubt a Sunbeam Tiger, they must of had larger wheels, or at least disc brakes. (I think Chrysler owned them for the last year.) Any help or sites will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Phil.

Steve,

I think you're right - Plymouth Cricket,or Simca.
When's the last time anyone saw one of those?
I did see an Audi Fox estate the other day - weird!

Hmmmm....

Now I have to find someone that needs a few sets of brake shoes for their fleet of Crickets. At maybe a dollar a shoe, I have lots of room to negotiate. More likely, nine cents a pound at the scrapper.

A friend of mine emailed me to say that one set of Girling shoes (along with a set of linings) are to a '71 Plymouth Cricket (64937136).

The other 2 shoes (1 wheel) and 4 linings for same, are Mintex but only have Chrysler numbers - 29152X (4 linings),23063 and 23070 (2 shoes). Linings are similar to above but drilled a bit different and different lengths. As if the slogan for the new, '72 was "Now, with 15% more braking ability".

I'll be at the Hereshey swap meet. There's bound to be at least one Cricket owner among 200K car people.

Phil.

Simcas were also sold under the Chrysler label. Not sure if they had Girlings though!

Don't be too quick to dismiss the earlier Rootes cars. I've seen plenty of parts for these in Chrysler boxes. Could be Tiger - Tigers had rear drums - Alpine, Rapier, Minx, Imp.......
