e type pedal - and wide feet

My right foot cannot push the accelerator pedal without also contacting the brake pedal. I've lived with this for years and am fairly accustomed to having to wedge my right foot between the brake pedal and the foot well wall. There is simply not enough space for my 10.5 wide shoe. Sometimes after "flooring it", the edge of my shoe gets caught under the brake pedal. Is this something I should continue to live with or does anyone have a "fix" for this situation.
I've considered relocating the brake pedal more to the left but this is not as straightforward as it would seem.
As always, any thoughts are much appreciated.
Cheers

Most brakes are modified by cutting and welding and/or bending the arm to get clearance. Same with clutch. Racing versions will use a completely different assembly. Might try the heat and bend to put where you feel comfortable and then weld to strengthen.

That's a ten and a half shoe SIZE Ex. It's about 4.5inches wide but the effective width is greater 'cause with my heel down in the footwell, my foot is at an angle to the center line of the gas pedal.

Jim,

now you're talking, 10½ shoe length. I'm a 9½ so I understand now.

one solution would be to:

1) remove both the brake and clutch pedals' rubber pads;

2) remove both the brake & clutch steel pads; (they are bolted to the actual pedal arm);

3) have a machine shop slice off the existing mounting bolt and re-weld it to the sides of the steel pads, (offset from the center). That should give you about half inch or better separation from the gas pedal. *welding a reinforcing "rib" from the newly positioned bolt to the opposite side of the steel pad would help to make the pad stronger and avoid fatigue.

you need to do both the brake & clutch for the obvious reasons.
