BN-2 on a rotisserie - mounting points question??

just like it says... whats the best way to mount a BN2 on a rotisserie. Pics would be very nice if possible.

If you don't want to use the commom "two engine stands bolted together" here is a pretty good idea:

For the more usual type, folks usually make brackets to fit in place of the front & rear bumper back bars - spring bars.

I fit my BJ8 to the rear bumper mounts and the front steering mounts, and used the two engine mount approach. A couple of cautions there, though. The typical engine mounts are a bit low, so I extended them so that the axis is approximately even with the center axis of the chassis. Also, be sure that the rotation of the mounts is horizontal under load. If not, the whole thing will not rotate. I've been pleased with the result, as is the body shop that just finished painting the chassis, using the rotisserie I made. Just be careful not to work under your own creation, and warn others as well. Over-engineering aside, it's just not worth the risk of having all that mass sitting on home-made apparatus. So always have an escape route.

Tomorrow (4/19) I am going across town to assist in removing a BJ7 from a rotisserie. I will get some pics before we start. This car went to Jewell (sp?) to get it's chassis rebuilt and is the only Healey I've helped out with that did not need the stiffener bar across the top. An original car will flex over an inch. We connect the rotisserie to the front of the rear spring mounts and I cannot remember exactly what on the front but I will find out shortly.

Attached is an image of the BJ7 on the rotisserie. The rear of the chassis is attached by a large piece of angle iron to both of the spring mounts. The front is attached to the bumper iron mounts.

I had my BN1 and now a BT7 on a rotisserie and had special brackets made up that mount in the rear to the same bracket the rear shocks mount to (2 holes) and in the front to the same four holes the front shock mounts to. Never had any problem with that set up. Obviously, you can't assemble the suspension, but at that point I take it off the rotisserie and put on jack stands.
