Bugeye Master Cylinders

Something new to me, since Miss Agatha was rebuilt.

Moss now sells new ready to install, with all components for $129.95. Page 35. Add from Eastman a can of gray brake fluid resistant paint for about 20 bucks. Much cheaper than having one rebuilt.

Durn I hate leakers.

I think it's a matter of quality vs cost on this one. I actually have 3 set ups, a regular 1098 3/4" master, a sleeved original 3/4" from Sierra, and a dual Tilton set up and they are all mounted on separate pedal boxes. The Tilton is the easiest to do rebuilds on and offers good performance with the ability to use different sizes for clutch and brake and to use a bias bar on the brakes. The rebuilt 1098 works well, but will eventually rust/corrode like they all do. The sleeved original by Sierra looks original and is smooth as butter, no rust or corrosion and no issues with rebuilds down the road. I believe Gerard has this service now. The after market master cylinders I've looked at had smaller internal holes, sometimes in different places from the original.
Doesn't Miss Agatha deserve the best? After all, she's your oldest baby...

It came while I was in Mtns for a week. Yep is from China but looks to be a quality product. Painted it today with Eastman special paint for master cylinders in natural color and it is that, just like it should be. I have an orginial and it is exactly the same but for TRW on the side in a place that is never seen when mounted.
