Maybe since it is 61 years old. we should say "Depends" instead of diaper.
I've been working on oil leaks. I think they are all sorted except for the rear main. So it still leaves black oil spots everywhere it stops. Nelson posted a couple pics of a small bread pan used to catch drippings. His looked good but my car has the exhaust pipe bracket on the back of the engine. I decided to go with something shallower and bigger so that it exhaust bracket can stay intact - an old cookie-sheet.
I took off the old exhaust bracket and ran a piece of 2" angle iron under the rear of the engine. This is the main support for the cookie-sheet. The cookie-sheet mounts to the angle iron with about 6.5" extending under the transmission. The front of the cookie sheet is pressed against the bottom of the oil pan. The pan sticks down just enough to keep some tension on it.
Then a piece of 1.25" angle iron under the cookie sheet that extends over to the exhaust bracket. The cookie-sheet is basically sandwiched between the two pieces of angle iron.
