Hey I can not state the importance of this forum, the knowledge and friendships i have from here but i started a you tube channel so friends and family can follow my progress. It is a little daunting but i am trying to keep myself motivated. Follow along if you like and comment if you can. I am not an expert and this is my first real restoration so Be Kind.
Mac's Tr3 Revival
Mac is the original owner of the car and my late father in law

Cheers,
JP

Hello JP

The You Tube channel is a great idea.
I watched another You Tube channel before I took on my TR3A rebuild and that was what convinced me I could do it. I have done 2 videos and I found I can not video and work as well. I wish I had done one on my OD work but I was too involved getting it done to think about videoing.

I will be watching with great interest.

David,
Thanks so much and I also was encouraged by another member doing videos to give it a shot.
I wish I had seen the OD work because I have one that needs to be gone through.
My pace on the project will be slower than some of my fellow restorers, balancing life, car work, and family
Thanks for coming along for the ride, if you enjoy a video hit that like button.
Cheers,
JP

Good on you JP it becomes a great record- i haven't needed too much resto on my car but there is always something that needs looking at. working and videoing is a skill in its own right the best is cheftush with elin at rusty beauties( but he has included some random moderns recently) i mostly have my racing on my channel hamish racing.

stick at it and enjoy

I believe it is Elin at Rusty Beauties who did a series on the OD restoration.
I had my OD done by a guy in Alabama. It developed a leak from the adaptor plate so I had to separate the OD from the gearbox to fix the leak. I did consider videoing but was a little unsure of what I was doing so I concentrated on the job at hand. I did get photos along the way. It went much easier than expected and is leak free now.

David
Test your work before installing it in the car.

From parts I had in the shop.
The motor was on my belt sander and the motor support is my Work Mate from the UK. Note the "V" pully at one end and tooth pully and timing belt to give a smooth start and that was what I had on hand. Was running the gearbox at about 1800rpm.

Making good progress. Nice piece you have to weld in to the frame.

I had enough trouble remembering to take pictures during my restoration!

Good luck with your videos.

Cheers, Mike
