I posted earlier about flooding issues. I took the carburetors off and reset the floats.

I had to change the starter to continue checking things out.

I got the car started yesterday but it runs really rough and I must keep the choke on or it quits. It has the Srtomberg 175's with no mixture adjustment. I have moved the timing around a little and it doesn't help. The car was running fine until it just quit as mentioned in an earlier post.

Have you checked to see if you are getting spark to all cylinders? I have been told, 80% of what appear to be Carb problems end up being electrical issues.

Did you measure and set float height by the book?

Checked for vacuum leaks?

Can you keep it running with the choke off, by opening the throttle a bit?

I set the floats at 11/16 per instructions in the rebuild kit.

The air cleaner is off and I did not plug the vacuum lines. Will check that tomorrow.

I did check to see that all plugs were getting fire. I replaced the plugs as part of the trouble shooting procedure.

The engine will run with the choke off if I crack the throttle but more than just a bit.

I also noticed that the engine speed varies quite a bit while holding everything else still.

I plugged the vacuum lines and started the car and it ran pretty well. I guess I went brain dead. I have been away from the car too long because of other projects and I guess I forgot basic troubleshooting procedures.

As I mentioned, the carbs do not have a mixture adjustment. I tried balancing them by adjusting the idle and checking the vacuum at the carburetor intake. I cannot get the front carb vacuum near as low as the rear. Oh well, the car is running pretty good right now. I have some other items to take care of now. I will check it out better later.
