Off Topic Got to say, I'm thankful for Moss Motors

I just ordered a bunch of necessary bits for my GT from Moss and all of it was in stock and ships today (should have it Thursday or Friday). Not only not bad for a nearly 50 year old car, but not bad for any car of any age. :encouragement:

I know partly it's an advantage of running an MGB -- with nearly everything available one way or another. Makes keeping these old cars on the road all that much easier. I'm not a big fan of hunting for parts, so having a nice catalog to get bits from makes it nice and easy.

By way of comparison, I'm still waiting on the insurance estimate for the damage to my motorcycle (2013 Moto Guzzi V7) -- I expect parts wait times could be measured in months and not in days if they have to come from Italy.

Thanks, Moss!

You nay get a surprise with regard to parts from Italy.

And a good bearing house can set you up with all the wheel bearings by Timken for good prices. IMHO, worth the time. But I s'pose it is dependent on the area you're in.

I agree. Some years ago I had a '59 Lancia. Found out that short of used parts in Italy, most everything was in short supply - if not unobtainable. Parts supplies for MGs are wonderful.

Moto Guzzi has a pretty small footprint in the USA, so I'm not that hopeful. I'd love to be surprised, though.

As for local bearing places, there's probably someone down in Salt Lake City that could provide, but that's an hour away in the wrong direction. That old time crunch again, no time to research or get down there to handle it. Catalog and a phone call makes it easy.

Under more normal circumstances I'd welcome the chance to research, find better solutions and better prices, but the summer ticks away and I want to be out there driving.
