Positive-Ground LED Light Strip

Basic question. New to the AH world.
I ordered positive-ground LED bulbs for dash, so I think I’m good there. My question is, can I wire regular LED light strip (12vdc) to the battery and not worry about the positive or negative ground on the car since it will not be using the car's ground system? It will be standalone off the battery not making contact with the grounding. Hope this is making sense. This should be cut and dry, but so far nothing has been so on this car!

Where did you get the positive ground LED strip? I would use positive ground as I would wire the lights to come on with the operation of the light switch, no a separate circuit.

but if I am putting it on it’s on switch for interior lights and it would never touch the positive ground system. Would it still work ?

When connecting both leads directly to the battery, no ground is used (pos or neg)

So you didn’t buy a positive ground LED light strip? Did you see them for sale somewhere?

I will give it a try this weekend. I have searched everywhere for a positive-ground LED light strip or one that is reversible. No luck. I’ll update the post with results soon. I’ll also add before and after photos of my Sprite rebuild. So proud of the results so far!

Ok, thanks. I looked for them a couple years ago and couldn’t find them. I was hoping you found something new.

The extra attention to positive and negative connections especially applies when replacing a lamp in the existing wiring.
In existing wiring, a light bulb can receive current from both sides.
An additionally connected LED strip, with its own (new) connection, only requires connection to a source that sends a current in one / correct direction.
Wiring a LED-strip from the battery should therefore be simple and pose no problems.
