Hi all!
Trying to diagnose a noise coming from my right rear brake area so I put my car up on a lift. The tire spins freely with no grinding or other noise coming from the hub so the bearing seems to be ok. There also is no lateral movement when I hold the tire on the top and bottom and push or pull either side.
When I spin the left rear wheel the right rear wheel moves in the opposite direction and I can see the drive shaft moving in a complete rotation which I think is normal. However when I spin the right rear wheel while the left wheel moves in the opposite direction the drive shaft rotates a little, then returns to the original location. It does not competely rotate when I spin the right rear wheel like it did when I spin the left rear wheel.
Is this normal? Or does this indicate an issue?
Thanks!
Chet
