I'm redoing the wiper motor on the TR3, and I bought a set of brushes from Moss, as the originals are just about worn down to the brush holder. I trued the armature in a lathe, and generally cleaned everything up. It works fine, but I haven't put the new brushes in yet, as they have a feature on them that isn't apparent on the old brushes.
They have three grooves in one end. Now, those grooves have to either go up against the brush holder or against the commutator. What are those grooves for, and which way do they go?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
