A tip on carbon brushes for any electrical motor.
you can purchase a carbon brush set at any local automotive parts store look for a set that has wire of sutible legenth for your application and the carbon is larger than what you need, both legnth and width.
Here is what I do.
Dissasemble the motor you wish to replace the brush set in. remove the old brushes.
you`ll need fine sandpaper and a flat surface to work on. Lay the sandpaper on the flat surface abrasive side up. take the oversized brush and reshape it carefuly rubing it on the sandpaper until it fits into the brush holder on your motor don`t make it too snug of a fit or too loose either sand it down until it slides nicely in and out. if the brush needs to have a contoured end where it fits onto the armature a dremmel with a sanding drum works nicely for this. I have used this method many many times with sutible results.
No more expensive brush sets for me
