TR3 project up-date

The little rust spots always seem to grow when you remove the paint. I thought this was going to be a 6" repair patch...

For the most part they are intact, I'll have spot repairs to make on them. This was the result of past front end damage as far as I could tell. Some one just bent the inner wing back close to original shape and overlapped the two cut edges in a few spot to weld them together then applied a filler over the remaining gaps. Needless to say I found plenty of rust.

How did you know I was actually trying to figure out how that straight down pattern formed? Thanks for letting me know it's one less thing to ponder.

I think the weldng is the easy part. I seem to spend WAY more time trimming, bending, beating, trimming, bending beating...repeat until it fits right. I guess I will get better with some pratice. I have a new found respect for those guys with show cars that have "no filler". That takes lots of time for a very small repair.
