TR2/3/3A An Afternoon TR3 Project

I'm wondering what a meaningful afternoon repair or maintenance project for a TR3 might be. Thinking beyond exchanging radiator caps or replacing a tail light lens, such a project would, I think, require: not having to remove the seats and tunnel; not having to remove the front apron; not working within any of the wheel-wells; not having to work up under the dash; not requiring four jack stands; not requiring a back-brace for extended work inside the engine bay.

I'm thinking that at some time one could limp in with a transmission stuck in 2nd gear, a pegged temperature gauge, or a collapsed piston and think: well, I'll take care of that tomorrow.

Now, every project seems to take two weeks to two months. I believe BCF Forum is to blame: too much combined experience, too many directions to look, too much good advice.

Only afternoon TR project is stick the key in and drive

Sure: fight your way to Vancouver or through Tacoma-Olympia, or struggle in line up one of the passes.

Maybe stick the key in and drive onto a ferry.

Perry, back roads to carnation then to Snoqualmie to I90 tp THorp and if you have any "dangly bits" up over the summit to Leavonworth and then back down 2 to Monroe and then 522 back home.
That take an hour or 2

An afternoon project for a TR - or ANY LBC - that fits all of those parameters is drain to empty the gas tank of all it's gas WITHOUT spilling any!

That should take an afternoon - and about 250 miles +/-!! :driving:

My afternoon project is to put it up on jackstands before deciding to work on it the next day.

Cheers,
