Took a drive today...

I couldn't resist. The mercury was hovering around 40 degrees. It's a spectacular day here today. Bright sun, blue sky and white puffy clouds hanging over the Rockies. Top down with the wind whipping around me. It's been some time since I had the six out for a spin. I'm glad I went out today. It refreshed my body. And it wasn't bad for my head either.

Well Dave,

If you would have been out east on Arapahoe and on CO 7 around Lafayette about 3:30 pm, you would have seen me out in the Stag!!

Yes, fabulous day, about 45 here in Lafayette.

With you today Dave !! Awesome for you!!!

Drove Amos up to the moutain town of Guavate. The mercury
was hovering around 65 degrees. It was a spectacular day
here today also. Top down with the crisp wind whipping
around me thru hairpin, twisty curves. I'm glad I was able
to go into the island interior today in my Six. It did
refresh my ailing spirits quite a lot. I had to punch it
a bit on a straight section. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif

Yeah Paul, that's 944 miles clocked on the odo meter,
je,je,je!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Can't something break, so I can come back? I'll bring Ben if I have to.

Glad to hear about all the great drives today. I had Fagin out a bit on Wednesday, but then the temps were in the 60s in the Valley. It was fun driving top down and opening things up a bit without much traffic during the business hours on a weekday. But now Fagin is resting at the shop awaiting some needed repairs to make this summer even better for time on the road.

The sun was bright, a cool breeze late in the afternoon. I wanted to get the car warmed before I washed for our club brunch on Sunday. Yes, it was good to hear the throaty exhaust and feel the wind in what is left of my hair. When I returned I gave the car a bath and tomorrow I'll finish cleaning the interior and under bonnet. Then we're off the brunch, "The Bucket List", dinner and then the Smothers Brother. There playing one of the RV/ Snow Bird Parks in the east Valley.

Ahhhh, to drive again. I live vicariously through

Trevor: It's okay to say "wind in your hair," I mean,
even if you only had one hair on your head, right?

Graham-

Nice photo of you at fort El Morro. I like your hat!
Let's have coffee (or a beer) at Cafe Puerto Rico,
just up the hill from cruise ship docks. I'll put the
date on my calender.

What cruise line are you taking?

Nos vemos! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

Clocked up about 250 miles yesterday in the TR8. Trip down to a new facility in Denver that is an extension of the Lemay Museum in Tacoma. Then scooted all around Denver and the burbs surrounding doing various other car related stuff and then visiting a few malls with the girlfriend. Back roads all the way down, scooted home on the interstate pacing a twin turbo 300Z and a few others at about 95mph.

If I were to mention excessive speeds, which I've been
known to do, I feel just a bit naughty. Do you?

Shawn,

Ever been to that Brazilian Restaurant in downtown Denver in the warehouse district?

That is a FEAST..............

Paul, do you remember the name of that restaurant? Things always seem to be changing down there. Continuing 'gentrification' and what not.

I was in the warehouse district at a very high end car 'dealership/brokerage' firm. They had a Porsche Carrera GT, a Lamborghini Murcielago, a Ferrari Enzo, a Ferrari F430, two! Porsche GT3RS's and some other high $ machinery. Interesting place, very laid back bunch of car guys that absolutely don't mind you coming in and drooling. As long as you don't get it on the paint. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Shawn,

It's the Rodizio Grille, I think. They just keep bringing food and carving it up table side. Not cheap, but everything that you could want. And it smells wonderful in there with all of the meat cooking on spits over flames.

If you like to eat, check it out. But go hungry. Deserts are awesome too. Heck, the salad bar alone is worth the trip.

Here it is: https://www.rodiziogrill.com/menu.cfm

Shawn,

I'm familiar with the Lemay museum.Tell me more
about the one in the Denver area. What's the connection?
How'd that come about?

The one in the Denver area is not a museum but rather part of the Club system associated with the Lemay Museum. Club membership allows access to clubhouse and all sorts of other stuff. They have specific memberships for car clubs to join their club as well. Not restricted to any type of vehicles, all are welcome. Its called "Club Auto". In the near future it seems that many people involved in our hobby, the hobbyists as well as those that make money in the industry, will need all the cooperation between all the clubs to fight for our rights to such a hobby. Organizations like this will be a good start.
