Just a quick note to re-introduce myself... I guess I was originally member #300ish several years ago. Congrats Basil for getting this forum off the ground and going strong!

Name is Matt.. living in the mountains of northern Colorado, USA completely off grid. And periodically I drive my 'work still in progress' purple '53 XK120 coupe. Its a good driver and looks decent, but basically still a basket case...

Good to be back!

This a late storm this past April (car's name is also April):

Thats is a great looking XK120 regardless of its color. I hoope you have a garage or protected space for it in the mountains. It is a real prize. Jack

Well... it's a very dark purple. Most folks think its black unless they see it in broad daylight. Close as I could find to the dark maroon XK140 color. And no.. for now, she lives outside. But it gives me a good view from where I sit. I'm more concerned about the sun than I am the harsh weather... I'll get or make a cover soon if nothing else. and I do have garage access, but that's 30 miles away which rules out spontanious drives... which is, of course, the best kind..

Matt, You have a great classic and exquisite taste. Welcome back to the forum and get that car cover soon!! I picture you as a very unusual mountain man. Being out in the mountains demonstrates ultimate trust in a Jag of the fifties vintage. Best regards, Jack

Matt.
A beautiful purple rock under some snow? Most rocks end up with moss or mold and I hope that is not the case here. I cringe cause I just have a carport for my Jag. I will complain no longer!! Mark
