hi everyone. I figured i'd say hi to the most knowledgeable spridget owners on the planet.

I recently bought a 1969 Midget - though it is not a purist 1969 Midget (the most obvious modifications done by the PO was replacing the padded dash with a steel dash and steering column and adding a 5 speed datsun transmission). The PO did lots of work to it about 8years ago. A very good guy indeed.

I wanted a driver and boy is it fun! I've already driven it about 500miles in less than a week. lol.

I will definitely have a billion questions if I run into issues so be ready

How do I attach a picture? haha.

Easy to attach a picture but file size is limited so you need to shrink pictures with some external program like https://www.resize2mail.com/
You can add one picture per post. Swithc to Full Reply Screen, add text, browse, select, add file and submit.

Welcome to the group. Bugsy is a year older than your BE. He says welcome

Metal dash is something I'd like to do to Bugsy my '68. Dashpad cover always covers loose. I have a Fiberglass Dash prototype I bought several years ago that is on my list of things to fix and install but since I don't have MOWOGS living near here, those creatures with minature hands that installed the dash originally, I glue the dash cover annually. Part of the rights of Spring. One of these days I'll put that on my winter project list. It's just my hands don't seem to fit up there.

Hey post some pics. We love pics. Bugsy's BE Bonnet will be on the car by Sunday. Horray temps in the 60's and 70's in Dayton all next week, sunny predicted and no rain.

So, what's the deal on the metal dash? Where do you find them, how do you install them? I really like this look.

aren't they just regular dashes with the padding stripped off?

Hi everyone. Thanks for all the compliments! I've been driving the Midget like crazy - but I seriously need to get new tires and balance asap - at 4k rpms the rattle does get a bit crazy...lol. I ultimately want to convert to disk wheels as wire wheels are a pain but that may not be till the summer.

What I do know is that you'll need a steering column, cowl and turn signal from a 1964-67 Midget in order to fit the steel dash and of course a steel dash. Some of the rewiring might get a bit confusing and some of it you wont need.

If you are converting away from the wires, which I think look cool, note that Minilites also come in spin ons. They would slide right on those wire hubs.

I was over at the The Winners Circle the other day and they have a set of 4 of the above rim going for $350 for all of them. I looked at them and they were very nice wheels although they seemed kinda wide. Maybe in the future I can get into changing the wheels.
