Hi folks, I am new to this great forum but not new to MGBs. I am definitely a British car enthusiast having had 2 past and 2 current British autos.
My latest is a fine condition (if I don't say so myself)'80 MGB LE I bought about 2 years ago with just 26k miles. It has been mildly modded-adv timing, custom exhaust, distributor (Jeff-Adv Dist), CAI, SMOG equipment removed, etc.
Of all my little 'changes', the removal of the emissions equipment is the most recent and most potent thus far!

I look forward to chatting and learning from you guys as much as possible and hopefully running into you along the way. I never seem to get to meet and mingle with too many MGB guys in my area. (South Bay, Ca)

I will post pics........as soon as I see how/where...

Regards,

Welcome, Reginald! Couldn't help but notice you are another of us with an "eye-tie" car as well! Darnn'd Alfas are hard to ignore. At least three other BCF regulars are Alfa owners.

Gettin' shed of th' emissions plumbing is a great first step to finding the oompf the B was originally designed with. Another great improvement is the Colin Chapman Method: "Build in lightness"... loose the "impact bumpers" and associated rigging, replace with either chrome ones or the look-alike GFRP ones. You can lose the equivalent of an extra passenger that way!

Yes 'DrEntropy' I love my Alfa as well....but the darn thing can be a money $$$$$ pit!! But I am hanging in there!

Funny you should mention those rubber bumpers, I was thinking the same thing a few days ago and concluded to heck with it-they are gone as soon as I can replace them!

Thanks for the greetings!

Hi Reginald welcome to the forum. It's a great group of guys who are always willing to share some knowledge when you need it.

I'm in the South Bay Area in California myself so I may see you around sometime. Right now I'm working on rebuilding/moding a 72 B and I have a 68 GT waiting in the wings.

Welcome again and I hope to see you and talk B's.

Kevin
