Does any one have any info on actual performancxe of the "Magic Clutch" sold by TRF

The Magic Clutch is a fine product, basically is a Sachs clutch plate and Koyo bearing. The latest thing in throw out bearings is marketed by TRF is the Gunst bearing. I think you can get it either way. Some say the Gunst is really very good.

Hey, Pertuso.

I put a Magic Clutch Kit in 3 years and 18,000 miles ago, I've had absolutely no problems with it. If I recall the guarantee only applied if all the parts were replaced - T.O. bearing fork & shaft, new shaft bushes in the transmission housing, and I got a new slave cylinder pushrod, too. Since it was now all new (and needed it) it functioned perfectly.

Thanks to both of you Skinnedknuckles and TR6 Bill for your imputs. During the restoration we put in a Borg and Berg plate and replaced everything else with new parts.Throwout bearing, sleeve, push rod ,both master and slave cylinders...the works. The clutch bound when engaged and would not release. The all of a sudden it released and the car jumped. When the clutch heated it became extremely difficult to shift and the reverse would not engage it just growled. I thought that with TRF's Magic cluthch we might be able to solve the problem

I had a similar experiance with a REMANUFACTURED B&B pressure plate. I pulled my trany 3 times in total frustraition knowing that all the parts were "new". I also used the Koyo bearing & it did what was reported, groove the fingers at the contact point on the pressure plate. I finally replaced it with a"new" not remanufactured pressure plate along with a Gunst bearing (a really nice unit) & the problem is solved. The bronze carrier is a much better material for the purpose.
