I know I haven't been on here for a couple of weeks, but I've been busy...
Anyways, on Friday I drove my new Sprite and again yesterday. Kind of.
OK, so on Friday it was driving it onto the trailer to transport it home, then as I was pushed for time I just pulled up in the road outside the house and drove it off the trailer and down to the bottom of the drive. When I got home I picked up the chunks that had fallen off...
Yesterday I had to turn it around as it was up against the mint plants. I then picked up the chunks that had fallen off...
So not a really good drive but there's good news: when I first went to check out the car the PO started it and it sounded like it was running on 2 or 3 cylinders. I decided to drive it onto the trailer as I was really pushed for time and I figured the engine was probably shot anyway!
In running the engine for a few minutes, all cylinders are firing so it was probably just stale fuel. It's smoking a little so the head gasket may be gone, but it's coming out for an unleaded conversion so no big whoop.
I will try and get some pics to show you guys the rust bucket that I've bought: a quick scan over it and I can already tell the sills and rear quarterpanels will need replacing.
