TR2/3/3A Drove the TR3 today!

It was a perfect fall day today and this was the first chance I had since I got the TR3 back this week to take it for a drive. Erik did a great job it runs great! The engine starts right up on the first couple of cranks and idles nice and smooth. It stays nice and cool also with the new radiator and the TR6 fan. The Temp gauge goes up to just a little past 85 and stays there. Even when I just let it sit in idle.

This is the first time I’ve been able to drive the car since last September, and it didn’t disappoint. It was great fun driving around the back roads up here and generally just starting to get a feel for the car and enjoy it.

Another big job I had Erik do was rebuild the entire steering system, the steering box, new tie rod ends, steering column, everything. The new nylon bushings in the steering make it a little stiff but it was worth every penny having the steering rebuilt. It doesn’t want to wander all over the road like it was doing before and it goes nice and straight now. I’m glad I stuck with having the worm & peg steering rebuilt.

Here are a couple of pics of the completed engine. With the rechromed valve cover it looks great now.

Do you have room to flip that front carb fuel line under the carb? Might look a little neater...
Enjoy your new ride!

There should be plenty of room to stuff the feul line under the carbs after taking off the air cleaner.

It really looks "Super Nice"!

Have a Blast,

Thanks guys, It's great to have an LBC I can drive again! There's probably room to run the fuel line under the carbs. I have a few other projects that I want to do also. I figured I'd wait to till after I put the car up for the winter to work on them. Right now, while I still have a few weeks left before it gets to cold, I'm just going to get in as much driving the car while I can.

It was another great day today. Both my sons want to ride in the car, unfortunately only on can ride in it at a time. So we went to get pumpkins for Halloween today. One rode with me to the farm wile my wife followed with my other son. We spent a nice time at the farm picking out pumpkins for both of our sons and going thru the corn maze The other son that rode with my wife rode back with me. They love the TR3, they say it's more fun than a ride at Disneyland!

AH! It's a man's life!

You got pumpkins? Shouldn't you have gotten the tomato that automatically ejects itself in case of an imminent crash?

Pither: Good heavens!
Gulliver: Amazing, isn't it? We have also developed a tomato which can eject itself when an accident is imminent.
Pither: Even if it's inside an egg and tomato roll?
Gulliver: Anywhere! Even if it's in your stomach, and it senses an accident it will come up your throat and out of the window. Do you realise what this means?
Pither: Safer food?
