Help Identify This Part.....

Hi,

I didn't quite know where to post this, so here goes nuttin'...

I need some assistance identifying this part(I THINK it's British...).

I've attached a pic. It is a J. FRAY casting. The numbers found are:
6346817
2
BS.1004.

The measurements are: 2-1/8" L x 2" H x 1-1/4" W. This is assuming I have the part positioned correctly!

I know it's not a lot to go on, but just maybe some will see the pic and say, "oh, yeah - that's a whozits off of a 19?? Watchamacallit".

Thanks in advance,
Warren

If it is J. Fray it is British. Some pictures form different angles perhaps?

I'm almost sure that's a TR4 rear bumper overrider.

I'm not sure what it is, but I don't think it's a TR4 rear bumper overrider. For one thing, it's too small at 2-1/8" L x 2" H x 1-1/4" to be an overrider. For another thing, I don't think J Fray ever made bumpers or bumper parts for Triumph; I think most of them were Wilmot-Breeden. Also, unless it were from a Germany-spec. TR4, it should have a number plate lamp on it.

What (presumably) British cars used seven-digit part numbers? That might be a lead....

Hi,

It's definitely not an overrider for anything, given it's dimensions.

Here's the Metric measurements:

54mm L x 50mm H x 30mm W.

Also, it is a chromed cast piece.

I was hoping there exists a J. Fray casting/parts number reference manual.

Thanks for the responses!

Warren

My guess is it's either the top or the bottom of a tail light assembly.....possibly bolts onto a bumper under the tail light.....?
