Help me identify this Heater Box, Please

Ok, so this is the heater i pulled from my 1954 Healey. With the help of the forum, we have established that this is not an original heater box. However, it looks to be pretty old and since it is so compact, I have to wonder if it is from another car of the same era? Anybody have a clue?


I could see a triangle on one side, so I decided to wipe it down with lacquer thinner and this is what was revealed

I would think it would have to be old school aftermarket or vintage, wouldn't you? I was hoping it was from a 289 or 427 street Shelby Cobra or something special.
