MGB Help! What is this part for?

What is this part for? I have a cast together intake/exhaust MGB manifold with a single SU HIF 4 carburetor. The exhaust has two part numbers. One number on each exhaust branch ; 12H3620 and 12H3582. Have looked extensively on line with no results.

Tom, do you have an idea? I'm at a total loss on this one. I think it's safe to say it's not from an MGB! Austin maybe?

OK, seems to be from an Austin Marina from 1972 to 1974.

note that "su auc 8092" indicates an SU carb heater.

Is "I Drive MGB" asking about the carburetor? or the exhaust manifold?

If he's asking about the manifold, those two numbers he gave were on the Austin Marina manifold, as Paul says.

The bowl heater in the picture is the first I've ever seen on an SU. Learn something new every day!

I had an early 850 Mini with one of the carb heaters on it. Worked well to prevent carb icing in very cold weather (like we are having now in South Carolina!)

Hopefully this is an easy question... my 1980 MGB rocking courtesy light (on the dashboard) apparently was broken, so I got one from Moss. Now I need to figure out how to remove the currently installed broken light. Before I break something really important, does anyone have the secret removal procedure for this? Thanks for any assistance.

If I remember, there are clips in the ends of the housing formed into the black plastic surround.
small screw driver should sort it.

Thanks for the info on removing the light. Small screwdriver popped it right out of the fixture. I removed the wires from the fixture, noted the problem immediately--the support clip for the bulb had broken, so no completed circuit (my inexperienced description, sorry if it isn't technically accurate). I attached the replacement courtesy light and voila, we have illumination. And spare bulbs, now!
