Finally got the carbs put together and hung them on the 948 with the header. Now I know why Downton made this intake manifold (thanks Bill
) it lifts the carbs up and away for the exhaust and allows for less heat transfer to the fuel bowls. As you can maybe see my heat shield was cut off just below the fuel bowls. AN original Throttle spring is too long, Do I extend a bracket down just for a return spring or do I get a shorter spring and attach it to the heat shield? Suggestions?
