This is a 2 part question regarding a 1976 1500 Midget -
1) I have just noticed the EGR lamp illuminated on the dash. From the Hanes manual, it appears that this is controlled by an interval timer. The manual goes on to say, simply, take the car to your BL service shop to have the timer reset. Lacking a neaerby BL shop, can anyone suggest how to do this, short of removing the bulb? The hanes manual schematic does not even show an EGR lamp.
2) Twice, after turning off the ignition (removing the key), I noticed that the ignition lamp was still illuminated. For an immediate solution, I disconnected a battery lead, finished my business, reconnected the battery, returned home, and turned off the ignition. This time, the lamp went out. Before jumping at replacing the ignition switch, I wonder if there is some sort of ignition relay that might stick and cause this problem. Suggestions?
