Copper gaskets for master cylinder, E-Type

Does anyone know a supplier for the copper gaskets on the inlet and outlet of the brake master cylinder for an E-Type?

I've tried a couple of our standard parts sources with no luck. These things are probably so cheap no one sells them.

My old ones are not sealing even after annealing.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Copper press-washer sounds like as good a name as any. The Jag manual simply calls them a "gasket" and I've seen the term "copper washer" in British repair books.

The manuals always say to replace them with new gaskets when the system is disassembled. However, none of my repair kits for the master or slave cylinders included new copper whatevers. I have had luck in the past annealing the old copper gaskets with a propoane torch. Not so this time.

One of the gaskets is 3/4 inch inside diameter, 7/8 inch outside diameter, and 0.060 inch thick; two are required. The other is 5/8" ID, 13/16" OD, and 0.040" thick (after being tightened for 40 years). These seem like relatively common dimensions and hopefully someone can point me to a source.

Try an industrial supply shop. Maybe there is a shop in your area that supplies hardware? I have supplies that came from a firm called Winzer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
