clutch shaft bushes

In the midst of a transmission rebuild and adding overdrive to the whole lot. One of the more mundane tasks is to remove the old clutch shaft bushes and replace them. I chose to replace the original TR6 bushes with those designed for the TR4 which are considerably larger. I had no idea the difference until today, check out the attached photo.

I never saw the TR4 bushings before, definitly better. Another common practic I've used is to double up in the original bushings.
The earlier TR's also had greasable clutch shafts. Just confirm the shaft diameter is the same.

Good tip, I'll remember for the next time.

Yeah, I doubled up the bushes in my 6 when I pulled the trans and did the clutch this past summer. Why did Triumph ever change that I wonder, just being cheap?
